Francesco Gimignano

Hello! I'm Francesco Gimignano, aka Jimi!

I'm an Italian Full Stack Developer, born in 1992, grown with bread, Doom and Pink Floyd.

Since I was a child I've been passionate about computers and everything related to them, so I decided to become an active part of it.

Curiosity is what drives me to improve myself, allowing me to cover almost every aspect of the softwares I create.

Backend

I can code in different backend-languages, such as C# (both .NET Framework and .NET Core), Java, Python, Node.JS and GoLang.

Frontend

Javascript and Typescript are my main frontend-languages, alongside the traditional HTML/CSS stack (often with SASS).

Design

I can provide visual mockups of the applications I'm working on using different prototyping tools, such as Figma or Adobe XD, and graphic softwares like Adobe Photoshop or Blender for 3D.

Database

I have a good knowledge of both SQL and No-SQL Databases, like SQL Server, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB and AWS Dynamo DB.

Architecture

I can help setup/migrate a project towards a modern software architecture, like Microservices and Serverless (both experienced on AWS).

Video making/editing

I like to make some videos for/with my friends or to showcase some of my projects using Adobe Premiere, often in conjunction with OBS Studio and Audacity.

Full Stack Developer

Mar 2020 - Current

I use the Microsoft .NET Technology Stack to maintain and develop new features for Wolters Kluwer Software Genya.
I am often responsible for UI elements, made with HTML5, SCSS and Typescript on top of a custom, internal Angular-like framework.

Ecom Imaging

Ecom Imaging

Backend Developer

Sep 2017 - Feb 2020

I started developing and maintaining some internal company tools and e-commerce websites, like fotoregali.com.
I then contributed to the migration of the aforementioned websites and internal systems to the AWS cloud environment, managing the entire life cycle and resources of different microservices, for which I chose the appropriate language for the purpose of the service itself.
I also contributed to introduce new business and development processes inside the company workflow, like the Agile methodology.

Morwen's Curse

Noicattaro Libroscopio Fair

Nov 2014

During the university I developed, in team with other classmates, a 2D rogue like videogame without a game engine such as Unity or Unreal.
The goal was to escape a procedurally generated dungeon, but to do so the player has to solve a puzzle before proceding to the next level.
The player has an inventory and some skills at disposal to win the game, with every level being harder than the previous one, leading to a boss fight on the final level.
